Black Stars not laying

I have 2 Black Star chicks that are about 22 or 23 weeks old. I saw our rooster on one of them last week - she is the one with the most developed comb & waddle. How much longer until she lays?

Every hen has her own cycle for laying. I have had pullets start laying at 18 weeks on the dot and I have had hens not lay until 30+ weeks. The rooster mating the pullets has nothing at all to do with them being ready to lay eggs. Patience. They will come.

Hey Miss Prissy!!!

She layed today!!! A HUGE beautiful brown egg!! Her name is Wilhemina and now she's giving our Leghorn "Lucy" a run for her money!! I'm so excited!!
