When my family and I first got into backyard chickening two Christmases ago, we did not know how wonderful the experience of raising a flock would be.
We started with three barred rocks and since have added some Wellies, some Brahmas, a Silkie bantam, and an EE.
Yesterday we came back from a weekend camping trip to find the nesting boxes filled with colorful breakfast treats! The picture below captures the excellent shades of mint, terra cotta, cream, and mocha.
With every new egg in the nesting box, every gleeful egg song, every new chick brought home, every new addition and improvement to the coop and run, we are reminded of God's majesty, grace and bounty.
I hope that other backyard chickeners have found this hobby as satisfying as we have. God bless.
