Turkeys that are hatched in one year normally start laying eggs in the spring of the next year. Being in Texas they may start laying earlier for you than mine do here in Wyoming. Mine start laying in mid March.

Some people provide supplemental light to get their turkeys laying earlier. Even with supplemental lighting, heritage turkeys are still seasonal layers and will not lay all year long.
