I have 2 female crested ducks that I’d like to breed with my mallard. I know my crested ducks are cross bred. One I know is a runner x and the other I’m not sure but she’s black with a crest. My question is, will they be able to reproduce being cross bred? I’ve heard lots of different answers but I’m really hoping they can! Also if anyone has any ideas of what breed my black crested duck is crossed with let me know!

Here is a new issue for you to consider and I hope to not upset you?....
Crested Ducks are actually a genetic deformity in Ducks which can cause many neurological issues..The skull is not closed so a bump on the head can kill them. The bigger the crest the bigger hole in the skull..They should not breed to raise Ducklings...

I also believe the crests are dominant meaning any duck with a crest will likely produce offspring that also have crests. Your ducks are cuter than cute!!

Yes, this is a concern of mine. If I'd known about the skull thin , I'd never picked them up. Last night a drake had her by the head. Luckily he was just holding the crest, but that was just luck . I should probably get rid of this drake he's a bit of a bully
