Brinsea Octogon 20 as brooder?

Can the clear heating /fan element on the Brinsea Octogon series of incubators be used as a brooder if it was elevated off the floor? I have wondered if this was possible. Similar to the "electric hen" brooders of days past. The brooder is inside of a crate and the food/water is outside of the brooder with a suplime tal light source. I have always used a red heat lamp for my brooding heat source, never used the floor brooder "electric hen".

These incubators don't throw enough heat for brooding. Plus, given how expensive they are, it would be abuse of the product, to my thinking, even if it could. Choose the right tool for the job and you'll be happier all the way around. $.02
