I have a big stainless steel industrial type brooder. I just barely got by with the kitchen thermometers last round and would like to do better this go around. Any one familiar with this kind or have suggestions?
Thanks,

I used a cooking thermometer...the kind that has the wire to attach to the temperature gauge on the outside. it worked well for us, but I probably need to buy a new one for my Thanksgiving turkey. lol

+1 for what ajay said - use a cooking thermometer. You can bury the probe underneath some litter and they should leave it alone and you can just put the display attached to the outside of the brooder (assuming it has magnets on it). Also, if you get one of those fancy ones, the probe is wireless and therefore there is nothing that needs to come out of the brooder.

Best of luck.
