broody question

i found my narr. hen making a nest the other day and i was hoping she would go broody. but she lays an egg in the nest then leaves it. will she set on them whenever she reaches her magic number or will she continue to leave them?

She will set when she's ready. I have one setting on 12 eggs now and I've had one set on as many as 18. Just depends on the hen. Try to leave the nest alone as much as possible. They like their privacy. If the nest is disturbed to often, she will move.
