Hi all,

I have another thread running about my Buff Orpington and the gender but in my searches of the forum I have looked many a buff Orpington chick and mine looks a lot paler than any of these.

Is there a gradient of buff or do UK buffs come out light perhaps? The breeder I got him from is a good breeder so I'm pretty certain it is a buff Orp but I'd like to know what could cause the colour to be so different.

Oh or is it an age thing? This picture is at a little over 5 weeks.

Thank you for your time and any advice.

Thank you, especially for the picture it's actually a great comparison and only slightly darker than ours. Yours is the closest I've seen, ours is darkening a little but I was curious to see if it's a breed thing to get gradients of buff.
Yea when i got her as a chick she was that color. At first i thought i got a different breed again. Because last year i got one and it turned out to be a light brahma i was new to chickens so i didnt see the difference. And good luck with your chickens.
