Butchering an Egg Bound Chicken?

I have some chickens to butcher and one appears to be egg bound. Would it be a bad idea to butcher that one?
 
You need to either treat her or butcher her. She's going to die if you don't do something. My vote would be to butcher because if you get her through it, it might happen to her over and over.

If you have an egg bound hen make sure that the flock has access to all the calcium that they want. Low calcium is one possible cause of hens getting egg bound.
 
One of my hens died trying to push out an egg. Can I eat it? Or at least cook it for my dogs? Please let me know, I don't know what to do
