FYI, due to the recent ice storm here in Missouri that caused extensive power outages, the 1st hatch for Estes won't be until Feb 19th now.

Very old thread: But has anyone on here ever used this hatchery? If so, how weree their chicks?

I ordered from them twice last spring. The 4 breeds I got were all standard hatchery quality, none of the chicks were DOA, and the few I kept have been good layers through this winter. If you simply want basic farm chickens then you'll have a hard time finding a better price IMO. Also my grandpa claims that the chicks sold at Orschlens farm stores are from Estes, but I can't confirm that.

got our chicks from orschlens yesterday and they said they were from estes and they seem to be doing fine so far. 5 black australorps
