Calico Splash and Mottled Silkie?

Hello all! I have the opportunity to take over a beautiful Calico Splash project pen (my dream!). I have three beautifully Mottled silkies as well and wondered if Mottled could be used in the Calico Splash project. I mainly just don't want to get rid of the one Mottled baby that has my heart, haha.

I'm relatively new to color genetics in projects, so this may be an immediate no, but I couldn't find much information on the idea at all.

Calico splash appears to be splash with red leakage. Mottling would add more white to the pattern, but it would take a while to introduce mottling and it wouldn’t really make much of a difference to the color.
