This is a lakenvelder thread, lakenvelder breed improvement thread, and anything lakenvelder. These are my new golden lakenvelder chicks (except for the white one)

Nice birds! I have 2 from mypetchicken, a silver and a gold. I was expecting them to be skidish since the info said they tended to avoid human contact but both of mine so far are very friendly. They jump up on me looking for treats and my silver girl likes to snuggle! I think Lakenvelders are so pretty- very elegant bird.

Henk69- your birds are STUNNING!

I can't believe not a single person responded!
I am picking up my first Lakenvelder chick tomorrow.
It's a silver female from Meyer Hatchery, I love the black on white
combination.
Up to this point I've had mainly bantams, but my husband
is building me a coop, so I wanted small sized birds. And thought I'd
try a Lakenvelder.

I love mine. She actually has gone broodie and has been better than my silkie so far at sitting. 1 of the 5 eggs has hatched and she is clucking away at the rest.

I can't wait to meet mine. I don't need her to be broody, just be pretty and share some eggs with my family.

hahaha i wasn't expecting mine to go since they aren't a broodie breed.

If mine ever do go broody, I wonder what her chicks would be?
My roosters are all bantams, a gold birchin cochin, a self blue danver,
and the tiniest golden sebright in the world!
