Can bobwhite and coturnix quail be housed together???? or has this been asked??

I'm not a quail expert, but I think that it would be fine to keep them together. Just don't add any young chicks to adult birds until the chicks are almost as big as the adults, as adult quail/chickens can be mean to younger, smaller birds.

You can keep young Coturnix and young Bobs together, but not as adults. The Bobs are very aggressive and will hurt the Coturnix when they mature. Bobs mature at 6 months, however usually don't start breeding until the following spring. Coturnix mature at 7 to 8 weeks old.

So I would advise building another pen to keep the Bobs separate from the Coturnix. Cots can get by with 1 or 2 square foot per bird. Bobs need at LEAST 4 square foot per bird.

Thank you!! Am thinking I should just stick with Coturnix...
