Hi! I have an older Leghorn that I have often wondered if she is blind. I have watched her eat and she will peck missing the crumbles or seeds on a few tries. She also likes to take treats from my hand and will often miss on the first try. Does not matter to me one way or the other - she will still be our special pet.

I was just trying to see if anyone else has run across this.

thanks!

I have had blind chickens in the past. The way check is to wave your hand in front of her head if she moves she head to follow your hand she has some sight in it. If that do not get any results you can move your hand towards her and see if she blinks. Good Luck!!!

Thank you! I will definitely try that see what happens. She is just a sweety and this changes nothing on how we feel about her
