Our oldest Rooster is a Silkie, he’s not the Alpha, of course, but is the most friendly of our Roosters. That’s the only Silkie in our flock to make it to adulthood due to predators and inexperience, .
As long as you don’t have a lot of bully hens, there shouldn’t be too much issues. If you notice something starting after you introduce them to your flock, then take measures to protect them.
Look for signs of aggressive behavior with the large Hens. Make sure they don't peck the silkies in the head. It can give them neurological issues. Hope this helps. Best wishes
"Maybe." Some people have no issues with a mixed flock, others have a complete disaster. Any of the following could possibly be factors: mix of breeds, ratio of Silkies to non Silkies, space and overall coop and run set up, etc. If you're willing and able to keep 2 separate flocks if things don't work out then no reason not to try it.
