Can Runner Ducks eat Layers Pellets???

we mix layer pellets, duck grower, and oats for our runners.

The old man at our feed store, (And I trust him cause he's been in the business a long time, and makes a lot of the food himself.) Says ducks should be fed non-medicated game bird food.

Although I till give them some layer crumble mixed in on occasion.
