I have been hand raising 2 Australorp cockerels. From the moment I had them at 1 week old they both had very different personalities. I was wondering if their behaviour at 7 weeks old now has anything to do with how nice of a rooster they will be. Batman has always been very calm when held or picked up, and just sort of stands around a lot looking regal. He seems pretty chilled out. Robin on the other hand complains about being picked up, he's always liked jumping up on us for attention, he investigates things like dogs at the fence and I got this pic of him today with his hackle feathers up after I called them over and they ran over very excitedly. I would like to know if it's possible to tell if a rooster will be nice with hens and people by their behaviour at this young age, or if it all depends on hormones as an adult?
