We ordered 20kg of chick starter feed for one baby chick! That is obviously too much so I am wondering if it is okay for my older chickens (which are laying and are nearly a year old) and around 2 month old baby chick to continue eating it. It will last pretty LONG. I am unsure if it is medicated or not because I couldn’t read anything that specified, but these are the ingredients

Depending on how many chicks you got, that 20kg may very well be eaten all by the new chicks before they start laying. They eat a surprising amount of food.

But to your question on if your older birds can eat it - yes, they can have it without issue. Your layers should be given a side of of oyster shells to maintain calcium though.

THANKS EVERYONE SO MUCH I WAS LITERALLY PANICKING AND THOUGHT IT WOULD ROT BEFORE IF MY HENS GO BROODY AND HATCH BABIES AND THEN I WOULD HAVE TO THROW IT OUT THEN RATS WOULD COME AND EAT IT ALL
