Chicken Christmas
twas the night before Christmas,
and all thru the pen,
not a chicken was squatting
not one single hen.
It's been a long time,
since they laid an egg
what do they want
for me to just beg?
The solstice just passed
the days are now longer
how long can I last
till I crumble from hunger?
