Chicken eye injury vs infection?

Hi, folks! I noticed that our sweet Buttercup (our 3-month-old buff) was walking around with her eye shut the day before yesterday. Upon inspection, the eye was cloudy. She could open it on her own, but preferred to keep it closed. We had heard a protesting sound earlier in the day (and after searching “chicken with a cloudy eye on the Internet”) thought maybe she had injured it, so we decided to keep an eye on it. We checked it yesterday and the eyelid was more swollen and red. The eye itself was still cloudy. Worried about infection, I Started putting a drop of eye antibiotics in it. This morning, the eye doesn’t look any better and I cleaned this gelatinous thing (thicker than pus, but softer than a gummy bear) out of her eye. She is still eating, pooping, and acting totally normal (except for the eye.) No changes in diet or environment. No other sick or injured birds. We use cedar bedding in their house and they free range during the day. Any recommendations? I’ve been using the antibiotic drops, but they don’t seem to be helping and seem to make her hurt more. Please help!

Her eye seems to be getting worse. We’ve been using Veterycin + and Vet rx. Any ideas?

I am not seeing a lot of pus, but a rather deformed eye, from whatever cause. In the early pics, there was a gelatinous ball removed which may have been pus and possibly vitreous. I wonder if the eye was pecked and there could be some tumor or cyst making the eye appear so unusual. A vet might be able to give some light to what is going on. The eye looks blind.

Thank you for your help! I don’t mind if she’s blind in one eye. She’s grown fairly good at using her good eye to track what is going on around her (mostly to avoid me, as she’s terrified of me after all of the medication.) I just want her to stop suffering. The eye seems very tender and painful. I hate that she’s hurting. Anyway, off to look for an avian vet...
