Hi Guys,
My Barnevelder laid a small empty egg the other week (3 weeks ago), no soft shell egg just a mini egg with nothing inside. Since then she has not laid again, sometimes I see her going into the next and sitting in there for a while but doesnt lay anything! Is this normal? I’m not 100% sure how old she is but she is massive and has a very red comb. She is miss bossy big boots in the coop and squats for me sometimes but not often.

There wasn't even albumen in the egg? Or nothing but a hollow shell.
Just albumen and no yolk in a tiny egg is not uncommon. It is called a fairy egg or fart egg.

No idea at all?
How long have you had her?

Was my question too.

@countrysidechickielover pics of egg and what's inside would help...and something in pic to show scale.

Might give her an overall exam looking and feeling for something odd or different than your other birds.

I have had her for over a month now, this egg was laid 3 weeks ago.
I have given her an overall exam and she feels normal/ same as the other girls.
