Chicken Names- whats your chickens name?

Our chickens were named by my 5 year old daughter......

Daisy - white Chantecler
Jewel - gold laced Wyandotte
Hearty (also Rosie at one point) - partridge Chantecler

My 3 year old son wanted to name one "Pants" but my daughter would not let that fly : )

Funny - I have 12 chicks coming next week. Two are Black Australorps I've planned to name Onyx and Ember.

The members of our Funny Farm flock:

4 Australorps: Sassy, Iris, Verdelle, and Penny
2 Silver laced Wyandottes: Violet and Daisy, Because they were always rooting around in the flower beds
1 mixed bantam: Eleanor, because she reminds me of a little old lady
1 Ameraucana: Starla, named by my four year old son whose favorite song is "Twinkle, twinkle little star."
1 Red Leg horn: Ginger, named after the hen in the movie "Chicken Run" by my 7 year old son.
1 Welsummer rooster: Cornelius, named after the Kelloggs corn flake rooster.

I like Starla most. Hurray for your son's favorite song. Eleanor for old lady, great. I like to name birds to their personality.

Looks like I'm not the only chicken nut that names her birds before they even arrive! )

That's part of the fun. It's like baby names, only better because you don't have to stop with only one or two.

Have you noticed you can learn a lot about a person according to what they name their pets? Example:

We have a pair of Lavender Orpingtons on the way. The big question: What on earth do you name a purple rooster??!!

My daughter's immediate answer: Barney

My immediate answer: Gonzo

My hubby was too busy laughing to answer the question. :/

Ameraucana is Tonks

The coop is Hagrid's Hut and the kid's playhouse is the shrieking shack.

Nah we're not HP fans or anything.

RIR Roo- Todd ....fox and the hound mix up with niece lol
RIR hen- Big Red
4 FBCM Roos - Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D'Artagnan....muskateers
their hens all have british lady names lol

Light Brahma Roo- Sir John
Light Brahma Hens- miss Daisy, miss Celey, miss Scarlett
Buff orp hen- blondie and big girl

17 white legghorns the 2 roos are Jasper and Edward and the hens are their vamp girls...(no I don't have a teen daughter) lol
1 brown leghorn roo - Walt ... after Disney.. has to be rehomed

1 lil one smoky

I have 17 chicks all Together and I have One of my Easter Egger names are Charlie,PEARL,Dizzy,Pixe. then my black Langshan names are Mimi, Meps and I have three barred rock rocks and their nameS is. Brigedtte, ELOISE. Those are some of my Chicks names
