Chicken pedicure….is toenail clipping a thing?

I wanted to ask if anyone out there clips their chicks nails?

I have a hen that continues to have leg issues and in the process of helping her, I noticed her very long nails.
Is it a thing to clip them if they are too long and if so what is the best way to do it?

Yes, if the nails are not being worn down naturally, they should be clipped. Use dog plier style clippers and take them down a little at a time. You can also buy a heavy duty file to smooth over the edges so they are not sharp. Keep some corn starch or styptic powder with you in case you accidentally quick her.
