Springfield, Oh
I recently purchased and set up a solar electric chicken fence around our garden space for the chickens to “till, poop, and scratch” so as to prep and fertilize for spring planting.
My question is this: how long do I need to let it rest between their removal from the space and planting? I put them in a week ago 1/25 and planned on leaving them in that space for a month before moving the fence to another garden for them to repeat.
I have 14 chickens and they are in an 800 sq ft garden.
1st picture is day 1 and 2nd pic is 6 days later. They are really working! 😀
Thanks

I used to let chickens in my garden in summer when plants were big enough to be safe. never had issues. I also let them prep garden for planting. they don't accumulate poop if they have enough room to walk. 800 sq ft is plenty for 14 chickens.
