The wine/whiskey barrels are wonderful planters. They are inexpensive here (one of the reasons we choose them), and every home improvement store stocks them each spring. Any large planters work well, though. If you have access to very large clay pots, they are wonderful. We came across two large clay pots and spray-painted them to add a splash of color to the very back area of the garden. -filled them with caladium bulbs and had wonderful color and texture all summer long. -chickens never were interested in them. Anyway, best of luck on arranging your garden with plantings and such. -lovely wooded property!
