Chicks are pecking hen's eyes!

Our 9 chicks are a week old and jump up and peck at their mother's face and eyes. Today the mom had her eyes closed most of the time, but can open them when she chooses. Is there anything we can do to help the situation? She does not seem frustrated at all, but I feel bad for her. The chicks are definitely still at an age where they need their mother. Thanks!

When she's had enough, she'll toss them. I've seen chicks do that a lot.
