The local feed store has a "chick day" once per year. They take pre orders.
My 25 comet pullets came in today.
I put them with my 6 guineas that are 9 days old.
The day old comets are bigger than the 9 day old guineas.

Too cute.

Here they are all in the same box while I clean out the week of guinea poop from the brooder.

I like this little Pearl Guinea. I think I will simply call her Pearl. All the rest are normal colored.

All huddled up in their new home for 2 weeks.

At two weeks, I will move them into this.

Then after about 8 weeks, I'll move them into the RH side of the big coop. A week in there to learn how to roost up high, and open the door to the other side of the coop.

I will have 48 layers. Anybody need some free range eggs?

Great watchdogs too. Anything comes up in that yard, they go to yelping.

They are also good at letting you know if strangers are around...I have heard that they eat snakes as well...I have about 25 guinea keets...can't wait to let them loose..hopefully take care of mosquitoes....IMO, I like the noises they make...drives my kids nuts tho...LOL Payback
