I have 3 young chooks, and 1 of them I found in the coop this morning (nesting area where they sleep) dead. She was about 7-8 months old. She had only just starting laying, 2 eggs. She wasn't where she normally sleeps in the nesting box, but laying straight out on the straw in their night quarters. Poor thing. I haven't noticed anything really, some runny poop no idea from what chook though, though probably from eating too much greenery in their area. They were all fine yesterday, eating, drinking as usual. And she obviously took herself off to bed like normal. Just one of those things perhaps? Egg bound?
