I’m tired now lol... we have done a ton this weekend. We just started a new feeding system too.

When I first saw this I thought this was one of those funny photos someone made where they wrapped the skin of a chicken around a a steak. Then I read it was a duck. I knew their meat was darker but I wasn't expecting beef red as the color.

I got these muscovy because of all I have read about their meat qualities. This was the first one we have butchered because they are hard to get in our area. So far I am very excited!

We butchered somewhere around 25 to 30 chickens 2 muscovy and one broad breasted turkey yesterday.... wow
That was my first go with skinning, we canned the meat so we just skinned and cut off the breast, legs and wing drums. We ended up with 64 pints and 7 quarts of canned meat. The 2 muscovy almost filled 2 quarts each!

pints got both dark and white meat and below is a quart of muscovy! I can't wait to try some!

I’m drinking some spiked seltzer water to wind down from today. Only time we sat today was for dinner

One week old Cornish x average weight of 16 chicks. 4.44 oz, or just about a qtr pound! So far so good! Free feeding 20% starter grower and McMurray broiler booster in the water.

They grow amazingly fast... when I had my 7 most got to a point I couldn’t see them living happily. They got so big so fast and at 9 weeks I was wanting to butcher them.

I have a Broad Breasted Turkey but I make her run with me to make sure she exercises.

That’s good exercise for you both! LOL maybe I need a turkey!
