CHUCKERS, WHAT ARE THEY

Chuckers are a nasty little partidge that will kill and terroize any other type of bird they are with. They need their own house, just so you know.

I have gotten chukar eggs from Steelshot here on BYC, and from Rosebud Chukars (http://www.chukareggs.com/) with fairly good hatches considering the distance shipped. Pine Grove (here on BYC) also has them, though I do not know if they sell the eggs or not.
I do not know how much longer they are laying... breeding season is slowing down right now. I just hatched out about 30 of these little babies, and they are (so far) just as sweet as any quail or chicken baby. http://www.thatquailplace.com/partridge/chukar1.htm

Next
year I will have eggs available, but not right now.

Good luck!

Yes chuckars are partridge, but as far as eggs,I think it may be too late in the season. You can try www.eggbid.com,they may be some in the southern states.
You need to give them a lot of space and cover as they tend to kill each other. If you are going to raise them on the ground, they do much better with a masonry sand base. They are very hardy birds and can winter very well.

Thank you everyone. I think we will wait until next spring. I got a good site from dacjohns. And I will ask the other BYC person if they will have any next year. My DH needs to build them something before we get them. I don't want them killing each other. Again thanks.
