There seems to be a Coccidiosus plague hitting our area, none of my girls have it but my question is: is there a way to prevent it before it happens to my flock?

Also another one we are noticing is a respiratory thing that is causing sneezing, what could that be? and how do you prevent that as well?

All I know is to keep things clean and dry, and not go visiting any other peoples' chickens (or change your shoes before you go home). Cocci is everywhere...in the dirt, etc. Maybe someone else can help you more.

This is an update!! Never mind my question because one of my chickens now has it! I knew this was going to happen!!!!! My new (18 week old) Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Roo is having symptoms of Cocci!! He is lethargic, his tail feathers are between his legs and he is falling asleep while standing up during the day!!

I am just going to medicate my whole flock with Sulmet.
