Breeding any color Cochin x MF D’uccle is not advised because you have to deal with muffs, long back, stiff feathers, tight feathers, culture hocks, a big comb, and very poor type for a Cochin. It will take years (10+ years) to breed out the D’uccle. Even then, there probably won’t be a show quality Cochin. Color wise, crossing MF to any other color, will probably not give the desired color. You may as well spend less time starting with and SQ Buff Columbian x SQ Black Mottled for the best results. (OR you can start with stock that has been worked on for years by many breeders) But that’s just what I’ve learned from the “Millie Cochin chat” thread here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/mille-cochin-info.228613/How long does it take to get rid of the vulture hocks breeding Cochin to MF (I assume d'uccle). Doesn't it tend to rear its ugly head down the road? Thanks.
However, there is a discussion on vulture hocks the first page of THIS thread: (keep reading, not too far down) Hope you get your answer (seems like you
