Hi, I'm incubating Coturnix Quail eggs. It's been a few years since I've incubated eggs. I put them in the incubator on January 17th at 8am. I don't remember if that counts as the first day or if the 18th is considered first day? I put them on lock down yesterday morning and I seen eggs wiggling yesterday evening and this morning. Would today be considered day 15 or 16? Thanks.

So how did it go? I'm curious because I'm making an incubator to hatch quail eggs. I'll be hatching around 500 eggs. Do let me know how it went, what was the hatch rate and chick survival rate. Thanks.

If they are hatching early you might have your incubator too hot. When you run it hot you have more females hatch and less males. But it can get to a point where you have very poor hatch rates because it is too hot. I had this problem in the past because the sensor i bought was off by about a degree and a half. That will make a two day difference in hatch time. Thanks!

If they hatched on day 17 or 18 you can probably disregard this suggestion. Hope you had a great hatch!

They hatched on February 3rd. It was day 17. It was a 60% hatch rate. They are now a little over a week old. I have 2 that look to be Tibetan. The rest are Jumbo Brown and Silver. The Tibetan were a surprise. I can't believe the wide range of colors on the Silvers. Here are some pictures of a few. ❤
