She started laying at 6 1/2 month old (a few weeks ago.) Her first week of laying, she laid an egg every other day which is pretty normal. Then she took two days off and since then for the past 11 days she's been laying an egg every day. I know they're supposed to be good layers but I always read 180 to 200 eggs a year so I'm kind of baffled but not complaining, since the rest of my chickens haven't started laying yet. Anyone else with a Cream Legbar that lays like this.

I have one Cream Legbar who was laying eggs every day and i loved it; she later completely stopped laying at all (i think because of the coming winter). It is her first year and that might be why she was laying every day (and maybe its the same for you).

I have one that’s possibly mixed with something that has laid 11 out of the last 12 days. The only day she took off was the day after her first egg. This bird is a new layer.

Many chickens lay every day for a while. Those same chickens will take breaks during short days and sometimes during hot days. Occasionally a young chicken can lay most of the first year before a break.

Thank you for the info. I'm still a new Chicken Mama. Got them all in May.
