Crocheters Thread

Hi! Hadn't done much crocheting lately up until Monday, when I found a yarn I really loved that fit a pattern I'd had saved for a shawl. I decided to go simple since my first shawl attempt was a fail. (I didn't like that yarn anyway, so it was ok.) And I'd had this pattern saved awhile, so it fit perfectly! About halfway done.
I used Lion Brand Mandala yarn Tranquil.

This page has a number of images showing how to hold the hook and the yarn.
(Scroll down to "how to hold the hook" and "how to hold the yarn.")
Further down, it shows what the yarn and hook need to do to make a chain or a single crochet (or various other stitches.)

Different people hold things in different ways for almost any craft, so it's a matter of finding the way that works for you (which is why I like things that show several options.)
