Crop Problem

Hello! I thought our chicken had either a sour crop or impacted crop. I’ve tried giving her apple cider vinegar in the water (I’ve read that helps to break food down) and we’ve made sure she is getting enough grit. The lump on her chest just keeps growing bigger and bigger and I’m not sure what to do now. She’s now starting to look unwell. When I touch the lump it doesn’t feel hard, it feels like a sand bag. Please help with any thoughts or ideas! I think my next step will be trying to find a vet that will see chickens.

Apple cider vinegar may help mild cases of crop problems, but hers looks quite advanced.

I recommend that you read this article in its entirety including the comments. This will get you started on treating her. I'd try to get the crop to clear, but she may need a bra to help her out as well.
