Hi All! Typical long time lurker, first time poster. I've had trouble researching my particular issue, so I figured it's finally time to create an account and post here.
I have a small flock of chickens, one of which has a moderate case of cross-beak (aka "scissor beak"). I've attempted to use bottom-mounted nipples in the past, but I've always run into problems with leaks. I'm now considering giving nipples another go and am investigating using the side-mounted variety, however I'm slightly concerned my poor scissor-faced friend will end up in trouble trying to sufficiently water herself.
Does anyone here have any experience using SIDE-MOUNTED poultry nipples with a cross-beaked chicken? The nipples are a bit expensive and our adorable little misfit is very dear to us, so I'm hesitant to make this purchase without knowing someone out there has had success with this combination. Any input is appreciated and pictures can be provided if necessary! Thanks in advance!!
