crowing roosters

We have a bunch of roosters --- 12 weeks old. when we got them @ 1 to 4 days old I started gently stroking their throats in the hopes of damaging their crowing mechanism. I did this only a few times when they were little. Now at 12 weeks old -- 1 has just started to crow. MAYBE-- perhaps no one else will crow??? Anyway is anyone else willing to try this and see if it works??

Gently stroking their throats? They will all crow!

as in scratching their "Adam's apple". It seems to have worked on mine so far -- only one of them is starting to crow.
