I'm starting this thread to show off offspring from breeding my Cuckoo Marans to different birds.
Most will be the same breed while others will be breeds that I'll be pairing with him to produce meat birds from.
I'm really excited to see how well his temperament gets passed down.
I'll be sure to post lots of photos & videos of the offspring.

List of breeds I'm pairing him with:
-Delaware
-Black Copper Marans
-Blue Cuckoo Marans
-Buff Orpington
-Wheaten Marans
-Cuckoo Marans
-Black Australorp

Last few days they’ve really gotten BIG!! Many of them seem to have sprouted much more feathers overnight. Barring definitely dominant.

I also have a Cuckoo Marans roo that I just hatched nine chicks from. They all have the telltale look of a barred chick, but my hens are Black Australorp, Buff Orpington, Black Sex Link, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex & Buckeye. I’m super curious to see how they feather in, and will post pictures, too! 🙌🏼

My hatches are now 12 weeks old and have integrated with our existing flock. Unfortunately (fortunately?) we got more cockerels than pullets. Three total have been taken by predators while free ranging, and of the remaining six we have four roos and two hens. So that’s four freezer birds for us and we’ll do our first culling ever in a few weeks. Our second hatch batch (7 weeks old) of the same parentage have slightly more diverse coloring, though all still barred,

so will continue to monitor these babies. Looks like we may have more pullets than cockerels in this batch.

Did you ever get any pics to show us the results of these crosses
