First time brooding chickens, brooded many a quail. anyway i know that their needs arn't the same. couple pics of the brooder here, just wanting some input on size, is it enough still. The chicks are about 19 days old now. I was gonna put a dust bathe in there, but i wasn't sure if they would like it as much as quails do. anyway, any input would be nice.

I'd personally put a wire top of some kind on it, since my babies always seem to want to try to get out. And the cats want in!

Looks very nice.

They will be escaping soon without a lid of some sort. Also they grow really fast and your brooder isn't going to large enough for very long. Better get to work on the coop/run.

i have the lid for it, I cut the center out and replaced it with wire cloth. Only reason i havn't put it on yet is b/c they havn't escape, tho i knwo they will soon.

I plan on starting the coop/run on wednesday. I'm a big recycler so i an thinking about using an old waste pro dumpster. don't worry its clean.
