DayGlo Chicks

The biggest problem with this practice is that such chicks are frequently purchased with little knowledge or regard to their care. The actual dying causes no problems whatsoever to the chicks.

my cousins each got a dyed egg for Easter back in the early 1960's, that they hatched and had little brightly colored chicks just like those in the link... it's not a new or novel idea... it's been around even before the 60's... they grow out and become "normal" chickens...
but just like all cute little fuzzy things, they grow up and need care, so yeah, i agree... folks should always think it through before acquiring any animal... neglect is sadly rampant.
now... i myself, prefer to "color" my chicks in a photo program...

much more chickie friendly and it satisfies my desire to create chicken art.
