Deciding on what breed to add

Hello all,
I am wanting to add 2-3 chicks to my chicken flock. I would like at least one chick to be alert (as in watching for predators), and maybe a silkie or something. Preferably bantams. All the breeds i have found say only the roosters watch/protect from predators. And if at all possible, they have to be somewhat common because i would rather not order but go in and buy them at a farm supply store or something. But if I HAVE to order then that's fine. And they don't have to be good layers.

I would definitely get a phoenix bantam chick and/or nankin bantam chick. The hens especially are super alert and will notify you of any danger.
