Hello all! It’s been some time since I posted around here but I’m excited to be back in the forums with a new batch of chicks. I have a theory that I wanted to run by you all. I have two 2-week-old lavender orpingtons who each have quite a different shape with their wings/body. I’ve heard from some people that this can indicate who is male and who is female. Here’s my two chicks. One is larger with a longer wing span (#1) and the other is slightly smaller with shorter wings (#2). Could the one with shorter wings be a boy? I’ve read that girls tend to grow their feathers in quicker and have longer wings but then a friend said it’s the opposite! Just curious what more experienced chicken experts have seen because these two have such different body types for being the same age and same type of chicken. Thanks!!
