Dirt/Compost from chicken run?

I would check Craigslist for tree services looking to dump woodchips for free. That is what we did last year and what we have done again this year, although they have not dropped any off yet. We will get some when they are in the area or others that are closer have gotten theirs first. Have you checked out the Back to Eden gardening method? How big of a run are you talking about in comparison to the number of chickens?

There is a tree service down the road from us, so we are always well supplied for free

The run has two parts that the chickens always have access to. It's about 3000 sq ft total, but the "play yard" we mulch is probably only 750 sq ft. We've got 24 chickens right now.
