Do all varieties of French Marans lay the same dark eggs?

For example with French Marans, there is black, black copper, wheaten, cuckoo, etc. Do they all lay the same dark eggs? I usually read about Black Copper Marans laying the super dark eggs (which I know varies by individual bird), but are all varieties known for dark eggs? Or is a specific variety known for having darker eggs than the others? I hope this question makes sense. Thank you!

No, they aren’t all the same. They all have dark eggs, but some definitely have been more heavily selected for egg color. I think black copper Marans tend to have the darkest eggs.

I assumed. I'd like to find a breeder that vaccinates, since I know that Marek's is present in my flock.

I have been told that the line matters as much as the breed -- some being more heavily selected for dark eggs and others for light eggs.

We have a French blk copper maran who is now just 11 mos old. I’m just concerned about her starting her egg laying and when it could be. Hubby says to be patient but I’m curious about what others may think.
Any helpful info would be appreciated.
