Do chickens stop laying after laying for 4 months?

My Americana stopped laying after laying for 6 months. Is this typical? She layed October through April and just stopped when it got warm. Is she done? She is less than a year old.

Easter Eggers/Americanas have been selected for their colorful egg laying rather than for maximum production. Generally they do not lay as many eggs per year as the production breeds, but they continue to lay eggs throughout their lifetime. She is just taking a break - she will lay again.

My third bird is a Buff Orpington. The BO treats the Amerucana like her baby. And the Amerucana acts like the baby. As a result, the BO never gets broody. Could this be a reason for the Amerucana not to lay.

At that age, my young pullets took a break and did a little molt that was barely noticeable. My EEs were the most noticeable ones to take the break.
