Hello! My chickens are just over 16 weeks old. The smallest chicken, an olive egger, has always had a more prominent comb than the others, but lately the difference has been on another level. Her comb is huge. Here are some photos, one her her by herself and one her standing next to a Black Copper Maran. The BCM has a much larger body that the OE in question, but a much smaller comb. What do you think? Do I have a flashy hen or a young roo? It’s my favorite chicken so I’m keeping it either way 😊

Check wings if it has one layer of feathers that are in one single row all the way through like a ( then it’s a male if it has two sets of feathers in a ) shape then it’s a girl. )

Can you get a full body side profile picture of them both?

That does not apply to all breeds and can only be done in the first few days of hatch.
