Does anyone raise quail on the ground?

If you have mold on the ground, something is wrong. Lichens, mushrooms, and moss are fine, but mold doesn't grow on regular ground. You do need to keep the enclosure itself from getting moldy, and if you have piles of packed-down leaves you gotta be careful about mold growing in those, but the plain dirt shouldn't mold.
Mostly you need air circulation to keep the air from going stagnant.

The wind finally calmed enough to get the door painted with flexseal. I bought a fern I'm going to pot and put in the shade in there and some dill to put next to the onions. Redoing the hwc around that bed to make it a bit taller and attach better.

31 eggs in lockdown.

Moved the door into the garden today. It's going to be much easier to lift and retrieve eggs under there. I transplanted a bush and moved the bin over by the door. Will be easier to retrieve eggs from it as well since it's not stuck in a corner.

The plant saucer is for wading in cool water in summer, will be adding a few more of those soon. I also bought a reptile cave that looks like a log. The stick pile falls apart and it's a hassle to clean it up all the time. I still have a small one in another corner that I'll eventually replace.

The food is now accessible from all sides and both waterers as well.
