thought this one was a male but no crowing yet... and big brother is crowing up a storm. Is this just a quiet male or a female?

looks like a cockerel. Sometimes they do not crow right away if they are lower on the pecking order.

The good news is that you will either get an egg or hear crowing! You will know for sure then.

100% cockerel, I agree that roosters lower in the pecking order don't crow as soon, this happened with one of our roo's and he didn't crow until he was over a year old!
