Any information cant help with the incubating eggs I have now, but I want to know for the future. If the membrane is too dry for them to hatch, that is a reason they grow all the way healthy but die at hatching point? Is this true? And how can I help an egg that the membrane is too dried to make a first pip. The eggs I have now are grown, and not hatching but I know they're full grown chicks but just too dark of an egg to see movement on the inside. So i do not know. Please help and inform me. I appreciate all replies.

If the humidity is right the membrane shouldn't be dry. If they are not making thier internal pip is not becuase of the membrane is likely position or they died before internal pip

Also, how do chickens drown from too high humidity? And when does it happen?

Eggs need to lose the proper amount of moisture when they incubate. Too much and their won't be enough air when they pip the air cell. To little and the aircell will get too big and they won't grow properly because of space issues.

The issue with a membrane getting too dry is after they make an external pip. If there is not a lot of humidity, once the chick pips through the shell the membrane will dry out and glue itself to the chick, preventing it from finishing the hatch. That is why after 18 days of incubation you should make the humidity very high for the last 3 days.

Okay! Thank you so so much for the reply and information! If its been too long and they havent pipped, is it a different issue? (Being healthy fully grown in the egg)

Yes, probably. Sometimes a chick is not positioned correctly and cannot pip, sometimes the yolk doesn't absorb or the chick simply dies for unknown reasons. It's always sad, but these things do happen.
